Invitation to Become a Member of
The International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences – North AMERICAN SECTION (IACS-NAS)

I am delighted to invite you on behalf of International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences – North America section (IACS-NAS) to become a member and active participant today.
The IACS (www.heartacademy.org) was founded in 1996 with its head quarter in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Established by renowned Cardiovascular Scientists, Surgeons, and Cardiologists, the Academy provides the organizational structure for the world-wide sharing of the knowledge to promote cardiovascular education, research, and prevention. The IACS Council receives nomination and selects established professionals of high reputation for awarding Fellowships of the Academy.
The official bulletin of the IACS is the CV Network (http://www.heartacademy.org/cvnetworkmag).
The annual meetings of the IACS-NAS (www.iacs-nas.com) are organized to critically review, exchange information, and disseminate the current knowledge on the underlying pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases and translational approaches into prevention, novel diagnostic, and treatment strategies, and enhance collaboration. This meeting is attended by top notch scientists, investigators, and health professionals from all over the world. Special emphasis is given to actively involve trainees and junior/early-stage investigators, educate them with the current knowledge in cardiovascular research, and provide opportunities for professional development and career networking. In the oral and poster presentations, pre- and postdoctoral trainees, including graduate and medical students, clinical residents/fellows, and young investigators are encouraged to compete for awards and travel grants. Distinguished achievements are recognized especially with the Academy’s “Medal of Merit”, Distinguished achievement, Distinguished Service, Leadership, and other several Named Awards).

Policies: IACS-NAS membership dues are nonrefundable, nontransferable, nor prorated. It belongs to the individual, not the institution or corporation. IACS-NAS members can cancel their membership at any time; however, no portion of their membership dues shall be prorated or refunded. The paid membership in the previous year will qualify for discounted registration in the following year. Membership can be transferred to a new address when the employment changes. However, it is member’s responsibility to update the information with IACS-NAS.
Tax Deductibility of Member Dues & Donations: Dues paid by individuals to professional, membership, and/or fraternal organizations are not generally considered tax-deductible under the U.S. Internal Revenue Service Tax Code. If your dues are paid by a third-party business, institution, or specific kinds of trusts, they may be tax deductible to those entities as a business expense. Financial donations to IACS-NAS are tax deductible. It is possible that financial and/or in-kind donations this year and documentable planned gifts to IACS-NAS could reduce your current income, capital gains, and future estate tax liabilities.
